At last...

Due to be published in October, Mark Helprin's new novel, In Sunlight and in Shadow.  720 pages.  I don't think I can wait until October, that's like, months away. The Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Fall 2012 catalogue uses the dust jacket image as its front cover.  So I am guessing this book will receive heavy promotion.  Anyone giving out advance reading copies?  (Not too proud to beg.)

I have searched the internet in vain and much as I hate to say this, the only place I find an excerpt is on Amazon.  So here it is, scroll down to the Editorial Reviews area for the Prologue and beginning of Chapter One.  I plan on buying my copy directly from the author himself.

Good news, indeed!

Dan, I know! A few nights ago I even dreamed I was holding the book in my hands. Then, of course, I awoke.

Oh my god I adore Mark Helprin! I have read Winter's Tale 3 times in my life, that book is incredible.

I'm looking to sell some used books I have, are you taking any? I can be reached at kellyam19@yahoo.com

You can find an ARC copy on eBay.

Kelly, I am only buying here and there, so no thank you! I am still sorting through what I brought home when I closed my bookshop. Many many books. Too many books? Is there such a thing?

ARC-readers around the internet are already saying how terrific the new Mark Helprin book is - I have been eyeing the ARCs on eBay myself.
